Tasmania's first carpooling day was organised by Cool Pool Tas on July 16, 2010.

We hope that next year all of the local councils in Tasmania will get behind a carpool day, and share in the growth of this new culture.

Cool Pool Tas is challenging organisations to get carpooling on Cool Pool to school, work, town or where ever you're going Day!

COOL POOL DAY- Friday July 16th, 2010

For those carpooling into Hobart on the 16th of July, FREE PARKING will be provided at designated zones in the Baha'i Centre (Off the Brooker and Opposite ABC), and the Regatta Grounds!

Dr Edward Hall Environment Awards

Cool Pool Tas was the proud recipient of the Hobart City Council's Dr Edward Hall Environment Award on Friday November the 13th.

Our community project titled "Walk the Talk: Walking Car Drives Away Climate Change" has grabbed the attention of many citizens at music and community events during the past financial year.

Where is the Tasmanian Government at for Carpooling?

Cool Pool Tas have been investigating what stage the Government are at now in implementing their pilot project to trial carpooling for Government Vehicles.

Some of the following articles might interest you in the very slow evolution following our trigger for the government for carpooling action at the 2008 Fuel Summit last September. Also some information on the University of Tasmania's federally funded carpooling infrastructure (through Travel Smart).
